The seventh express entry draw of 2023 was held by IRCC due to which 7000 invitations were sent to the candidates in all three programs.
For this particular draw, the cut-off CRS score was 490. In the last all-program draw of January 18, 5500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were sent to candidates which was a record in 2023, but this all-program has beaten that record.
All-program draw means that candidates were invited from all three Express Entry programs – Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
The pattern of program-specific draws that have been occurring over the past two months was broken by this draw. Four program-specific rounds of invitations occurred before the last all-program draw, among which one was for FSWP candidates and three were for PNP-only. In the most recent PNP-only draw on March 1, 697 candidates were invited.
All Express Entry program draws were all-program draws that invited over 1,000 candidates each time and grew as the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores decreased prior to 2023, between July and November 2022.
2021 Express Entry Data Released by IRCC
A report was recently released by IRCC in which Express Entry data for 2021 was summarized.
All program draws were paused to ease the backlog caused by COVID-19-related travel restrictions and border closures starting in December 2020. In the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC), ITAs continued to be issued by IRCC until September 2021 when CEC draws were also paused.
As there were no all-program Express Entry draws in that year, overall 114,431 ITAs were issued in 2021. No ITAs were issued to FSTP and FSWP candidates as all 42 Express Entry candidates were program specific for the PNP and CEC. For candidates between the age of 20 and 29, 64% of the ITAs were issued to candidates.
In this age range, 100 CRS points were received by candidates under the comprehensive ranking system. Candidates receive fewer points for the age after turning 30.
To candidates who were already living in Canada as temporary residents because of the pauses, the majority of ITAs were issued. Some invitations were also issued to candidates living abroad.
The top five nationalities as follows were issued ITAs:
- Canada: 102,806 ITAs issued
- India: 3,826 ITAs issued
- Nigeria: 1,432 ITAs issued
- USA: 806 ITAs issued
- People’s Republic of China: 687 ITAs issued
