Today’s cut-off score is the lowest since the last CEC-only draw on May 31 (522). It also marks the lowest score of the year in a non-category based selection draw.
To this point this month the IRCC has issued 17,361 ITAs across six different drawings.
On 16 july there was a PNP-only draw, at a minimum CRS of 670, inviting 1,391 candidates. Before this, on July 8, the IRCC most recently welcomed 3,200 applicants in a category-based selected draw due to French proficiency.
There’s an extra 600 automatically added to the scores of Express Entry candidates who have been successfully nominated by the PNP. That means CRS scores for PNP-only Express Entry rounds tend to be higher than draws that include all candidates, regardless of whether or not they have received Express Entry nominations. Theoretically, as an example, an Express Entry candidate receiving a successful nomination will score a total of 900.

What does Express Entry really mean?
These are the three programs of economic immigration to Canada, which include the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program, all of which are managed using the Express Entry application management system. Each of the programs leads to permanent residence in Canada.
The Programs achieve this by assessing the candidates for immigration, through the Comprehensive Ranking System based on human capital items such as age, occupation, education, language proficiency, and work experience. A candidate’s CRS score is derived from the summation of scores in each of the factors in this system.
