Candidates were issued invitations in the latest PNP draws by 4 provinces, namely, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island.
Immigration of foreign nationals is a responsibility that is shared by the provincial as well as federal governments. For spreading the economic benefits of immigration to the areas of the country outside of the major urban centers, Provincial Nominee Program is viewed as a useful tool.
Through the PNP, candidates that the provincial government feels can economically establish themselves and integrate within the labour market of the nominating province can be nominated.
After receiving a PNP nomination, it becomes less challenging for a candidate to become a permanent resident but being nominated by a province does not guarantee that you will obtain permanent resident status. To obtain permanent residency, candidates must still apply separately.
