This week, both the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) and the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted immigration draws. Additionally, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) provided updates on the processing of their provincial immigration streams.
Provincial Immigration Results (September 27 to October 4):
British Columbia:
On October 2, the BCPNP held two separate immigration draws. One was a general draw, while the other focused on candidates in high-demand sectors. In the general draw, 81 candidates were invited across multiple immigration streams.

Manitoba:
On September 27, the MPNP held two immigration draws. The first was under the International Education Stream, where 269 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued. The second draw, under the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream, invited 79 candidates through a “Strategic Recruitment Initiative.” To qualify, candidates needed a minimum score of 582. Of the 348 total candidates invited, 56 had a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.
Alberta:
The AAIP also provided updates on the progress of their immigration streams. These updates outlined how many nominations had been issued, the remaining provincial allocation, and the current status of application processing for each stream.
For candidates with work permits expiring in 2024, the AAIP is assessing applications based on the ‘Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates’ to determine eligibility for work permit extension support letters.
