Canandian government is planning to stablize IRCC CFP 2024 for settlement services contains four major themes
In 2024, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will invite proposals to support newcomers and refugees through the Settlement and Resettlement Assistance programs for the next five years, as part of their commitment to delivering excellent services.
The time to apply for funding started on November 14, 2023, and will end on January 31, 2024. If you want, you can apply for more than one funding opportunity through the Grants and Contributions System (GCS). For the CFP 2024, the funding process begins on April 1, 2025. Projects might get funding for up to five years, until March 31, 2030.
In early 2023, there were national discussions with over 1,300 partners and stakeholders. These discussions helped decide on important areas to focus on. IRCC’s priorities for CFP 2024 aim to make sure the program gives the right service to the right client at the right time.
An ATIP obtained by Oasis Visas mentions specific improvements for the Settlement Program. These improvements are grouped into themes:
➤ Increase Consistency: Make services more consistent across the country, ensuring that clients with the most challenges get the support they need.
➤ Promote Collaboration: Work together and share information with different levels of government for effective settlement program delivery.
➤ Boost Community Partners’ Capacity: Encourage designing programs with input from clients and strengthen community connections and volunteer capacity.
➤ Flexibility: Ensure the program stays flexible, adapting to the needs of clients and regions and recognizing the role of provinces and territories in planning for newcomers’ settlement and integration.
CFP for Four Dedicated Streams
CFP 2024 is looking for proposals in four main areas: the Resettlement Assistance Program, the Francophone Integration Pathway, equity (capacity building), and service delivery improvement.
Building on the growth of the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) since 2019, CFP 2024 wants to extend RAP to four more areas in the country. They aim to improve RAP’s ability to help French-speaking clients and create a consistent pathway for refugees using RAP.
The Francophone Integration Pathway will be part of the Settlement Program’s terms and conditions. They plan to increase the capacity of organizations helping Francophone newcomers and set a minimum funding target for Francophone programs in each region.
CFP 2024 also wants to make the settlement sector more capable of offering inclusive services for diverse newcomers. They’ve set aside up to $25 million each year to support organizations that haven’t historically received funding under Settlement and Resettlement programs.
Lastly, CFP 2024 is crucial for embracing digital and hybrid service delivery. It encourages testing and researching innovative ways to improve how services are provided after immigration to Canada from India.
Canadian Settlement Services
Canada’s Settlement Services receive about $2 billion every year from the IRCC, covering the entire country, including a separate grant for Quebec. This money helps organizations assist newcomers who meet the IRCC’s criteria for settlement and integration. Generally, these services are for permanent residents, protected persons, and some temporary residents.
To get funding from IRCC, settlement providers explain in response to IRCC’s Call for Proposals (CFP) how they will help newcomers. Nearly 1,300 locations in Canada provide IRCC-funded support for eligible newcomers, and you can find them listed on IRCC’s website.
