Five provinces in Canada invite candidates for Provincial Immigration through their respective provincial immigration programs.
The majority of these provinces utilize the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for candidate selection, with the exceptions being Quebec and Nunavut. Quebec, under a distinct agreement with the federal government due to its unique immigration responsibilities, enjoys complete autonomy in selecting economic class immigrants.
Receiving a provincial nomination significantly enhances an applicant’s chances of obtaining permanent residency, adding an extra 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points to their Express Entry application.
