IRCC invited 4600 candidates in Recent Express Entry Draw. In these draws, 800 people were invited on July 11th, and 3800 people were invited on July 12th.
On July 12th, the department welcomed 3,800 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 375 in a French language category-based draw.

In the most recent round of invitations, IRCC sent 800 invitations to Express Entry candidates with a minimum CRS score of 505, which is significantly higher than the three category-based selection invitations issued the previous week but still less than the 511 required for applicants in the July 4 draw.

Draw Results from July 4 to July 7
Last week, from July 4 to 7, the IRCC held four consecutive draws.
The invitations given on July 4 were the result of an unexpected all-program draw in which the 700 invited candidates were required to have a minimum CRS score of 511. So far in 2023, this was the highest required CRS score for any all-program draw.
On July 5, the expected first-ever category-based express entry draw for STEM was held for candidates with job experience in STEM occupations. IRCC invited 500 candidates with a minimum score of 486. The IRCC stated a week in advance that this draw will take place.
1500 Candidates were invited by IRCC in the Third Round of the Express Entry Category Based Draw in an expected category-based selection draw for healthcare professionals with a cut-off CRS score of 463.
On July 7, IRCC held the fourth round of category-based express entry draw. ITAs were granted to 2,300 individuals with strong French language skills and a CRS of at least 439.
Draw Results on June 27 and June 28
On June 27, IRCC invited 700 candidates in the latest all-program Express Entry draw. These contenders needed a CRS of at least 486.
IRCC issued the first-ever ITAs for category-based selection on June 28. In total, 500 individuals with healthcare work experience and a minimum CRS score of 476 were asked to apply for permanent residency.
Category Based Selection
Sean Fraser, Canada’s immigration minister, revealed on May 31 that the IRCC has finalized categories for category-based selection. Following the royal assent of Bill C-19 in Canada’s parliament in June, which became law, these classifications were predicted.
The law empowers the immigration minister to invite economic immigrants who will benefit Canada’s economy and promote the French language outside of Quebec.
The minister may accept newcomers based on specific characteristics rather than the CRS score. Language competence and professional experience are examples of traits that can be provided.
After discussions with stakeholders and provincial and territorial governments, areas such as healthcare, transportation, agriculture and agri-food, high French language skills, trades, and STEM professions were chosen to identify the most critical shortages in Canada’s workforce.
Candidates chosen in these categories must still be eligible for the Express Entry program. CRS scores will continue to be useful because candidates will be ranked against one another.
According to the Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025, 82,880 new permanent residents are expected to be admitted to Canada through Express Entry by the end of 2023.
This rises to 109,020 in 2024 and 114,000 in 2025. It will be ensured that newcomers to Canada contribute to attaining these targets while also boosting the Canadian workforce through the new Express Entry category.
