The latest Express Entry draw was held by IRCC to invite another 3500 candidates, in which a cut-off score of 483 was required.
From all the Express Entry programs, namely Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), candidates received invitations.
In a draw earlier on April 12, which was also an all-program draw, 3,500 candidates received Invitations to Apply (ITAs). On March 15, March 23, and March 29, 7,000 candidates were invited to the draws, each draw occurred over two weeks instead of bi-weekly draws. As compared to these draws, April 12 draw just invited half of the candidates in which the minimum CRS score was also raised from 481 to 486.
March Milestones of the Express Entry
In the history of Canada Express Entry, 21,000 ITAs were the second-highest number of ITAs that were issued in March. The record for the highest number of ITAs issued in a month till date is inviting 27,332 CEC candidates in a single draw in February 2021.
7,000 candidates were invited in the largest ever all-program draw which happened to be the first draw in March. This number was repeated by draws which followed afterwards, a total of 21,000 candidates were invited in two weeks and a monthly total of 21,667 ITAs were issued. The remaining 667 candidates were invited in Express Entry-PNP Only Draw which was Held by IRCC on 1 March 2023.
In total, 4 Express Entry draws occurred in March within a week. These draws were very unusual as the draws typically occur every two weeks on Wednesdays.
What is Express Entry?
To evaluate and rank candidates from all three Canada’s economic class immigration programs, the application management system was established in 2015 which is known as Express Entry. Along with the Provincial Nominee Programs, Express Entry is one of the major pathways to Canada.
Based on human capital factors such as occupation, work experience, language ability, and education, a Comprehensive Ranking System is used by Express Entry to evaluate the candidates. Candidates with the highest scores in an Express Entry draw receive Invitation to Apply (ITA).
If skilled candidates are looking to stay and work in Canada for only a short period, they should go for Canada Work Permit, but Express Entry generally helps candidates with intention to stay in Canada for a very long time.
