1668 candidates were invited by three Canadian provinces from June 3 to 9, namely Ontario, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
Candidates having specific attributes who can economically establish themselves within any particular province have been targeted by the PNP programs operated by each province. There are targeted streams for newcomers who are proficient in French so that the French language can have prominence outside of Quebec.
These streams have also reflected the recently announced updates to the federal Express Entry system. Candidates eligible for category-based selection could be invited to upcoming draws this year as announced by the province on May 31. Invitations were sent to Express Entry candidates only on the basis of a high Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score until the categories were introduced.
Having work experience in a targeted occupation may provide an advantage just like Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Still, to obtain Canada PR, candidates nominated by any particular province must apply separately to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Provincial Immigration Results June 3 to 9
Ontario
Under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), candidates in the Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream were issued 278 notifications of interest on June 5.
Two draws were held by the province under this stream. Candidates having occupations in Health, Education, and Finance were targeted by the first draw. The range of CRS scores for all candidates was between 312 and 487.
139 candidates from Tech, Trades, and other priority occupations were invited to the second draw. The range of CRS scores was between 348 and 487. Whether the candidates want to be assessed or not against the Federal Skilled Trades Program or the Canadian Experience Class, must be indicated by PNP candidates in this stream.
British Columbia
In four targeted draws, more than 157 candidates were invited by British Columbia on June 6. All of the candidates were either in the International Graduate or Skilled Worker streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program, including Express Entry candidates.
A minimum Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) score of 90 was required in the largest draw with the tech occupations, in which 112 candidates were invited.
For the other 3 draws, a minimum SIRS score of 60 was required. 24 early childhood educators and assistants, 21 healthcare workers, and less than 5 other priority occupation candidates were included in this draw.
Saskatchewan
First draw of the month was held by Saskatchewan on June 8. 500 candidates were invited by the province under two programs of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
There was a smaller draw than the latest one on 18 May in which candidates required a score slightly higher score than the latest one. From the Occupations-in-Demand stream, 232 candidates were invited and 268 candidates were invited from Express Entry.
Candidates are required an Educational Credential Assessment and a minimum score of 69.
